Work Hard, Get Smart - Method of Living
Hard work is a good thing, and can’t be ignored as the way to approach any undertaking. Saying that, I think a lot of people don’t quite understand that hard work is just a rough description of many components of what a person is doing at any one time.
Smart People who are Lazy
Look at the opposite side of the coin — the simple advice that appeals to millions of people and leads them down the wrong path, “Work smart, not hard”, is a misleading idea that causes people to put down their tools and start trying to figure out how to be smart — and not do too much hard work.
In fact, most successful people would agree that their success, or reaching the top, was hard won and the result of a combination of working intelligently, smart, clever, and always with persistence.
There is a lot more to Life than being Smart
You won’t get anywhere in life if you avoid being determined about the task ahead of you, being determined means intelligent use of knowledge and data that is at hand. To determine what work needs to be done to reach a goal and be successful means that you must be persistent and never give up. This already sounds like hard work, and it is, there’s no end to the tasks that need to be carefully monitored and worked at while determinedly, and doggedly, driving forwards towards success.
Enjoy Your Life — Success
Success comes, and you don’t see it, you’re much too busy enjoying the ride of a lifetime. Each step on life’s ladder is an experience that leads to new knowledge and new ideas, so you adjust and plan and keep rolling forwards.
Is it Really Hard Work?
All this sounds like a lot of hard work, but this is what working smart really means — the bit about “not working hard”, is not discluded and never can be.
Don’t Follow the Pied Piper
These days, with computers and the silly claim that it is possible to create a passive income if only you can set up a really smart idea, are confusing days for people starting out in the world of work, and trying all the hacks, instead of doing work.
Hard Work and Intelligence
Some people see hard work like digging a ditch with a shovel, repetitive and boring — it can be, and it will definitely be boring if you take no interest in the work.
Make a plan, clearly see what must be done to achieve the goals you have set for yourself, and get on with it; roll up the proverbial sleeves and ignore the naysayers who are sitting in the sidelines booing — they are not smart workers, they are smart-asses, who one day will realise that their plans and their goals are just a bunch of cloudy dreams.
Work is always accompanied by sweat, of one kind or another. A writer must write into the mistiness of the unknown future, and can only work with the faith that what she is writing will turn out to be worth reading.
A business idea is only an idea until hard work helps to give it shape and form. Only when it comes to market will you know whether you can find customers for an idea.
Life is a risky business, but hard work, smart thinking and self-confidence won through educating yourself about how to work smart, will see you through to success.
