Tucker Carlson panders to an immature male audience who may well be in their 30s and 40s, and realising that they missed out on doing all those traditionally masculine things in life, like joining the military and being a soldier, boxing, street fighting late at night after drinking and so on, that, including the fantasy side of masculinity that has been rammed down the throats of young men by Hollywood, it is no wonder that Carlson easily finds an audience for his babble about what it is to be a man.

I wear spectacles and am often mistaken to be a professor or teacher, I am polite and helpful to strangers, especially the elderly. I love the company of women for their openness and lack of need to boast about fictional exploits that they didn’t have the night before.

I know about boxing, street fighting and am fairly well read. I write and believe that the pen is mightier than the sword.

I know that Tucker Carlson has never been in the ring, been in a barroom brawl or been engaged in any job that requires physical courage, such as soldier or airman.

When he talks about what it is to be a man, to be masculine, he is only voicing a Hollywood version of maleness, that in real life, is always knocked out in the first round.
