Creativity, Work, and Writing Inspiration
A writer must be a creative person. So what’s that mean? We deal in words, we create ideas and share them with readers. But there’s also the magic of inspiration.
That’s hard. It takes years of practice and understanding to know how to use words, build sentences, and develop a small idea into a bigger one — all out of thin air.
But while we sit and practice, our work is often interesting enough to share with readers. So, don’t put the brakes on too quickly.
Creative ideas come from somewhere. When you possess a mind that is inquisitive, and curious about the world around you, you can’t help but have new ideas. So build a habit of taking these ideas seriously. Coax them into life, write them down, that’s the work of a writer.
Experiment, and find out if it works for you.
Creative minds embrace phantasy, they see the possibilities in everyday situations. To speculate and tell yourself stories as you encounter these situations. This allows inspiration to rise up and suggest strong creative ideas. This can happen anytime, walking, shopping, sitting and talking with friends, it happens when you are interested in everyday life.
